I understand that I can apply for the PGWP based on my full time studies. But then, there were exclusions stated in the cic. I am just asking IF the life insurance course is considered to be taking a general interest or self-improvement course because i am going to take a provincial exam for this. Thank you
It doesn't matter, has no effect on your PGWP as long as your main program is eligible.
The rule is not that you CANT take self interest/online courses, the rule is you cant apply for PGWP based on that course.

Wouldn’t really say life insurance courses are general interest or self-improvement but that is just me. I would think taking something like a continuing education course (e.g. learning about Egyptian history a few hours a week for 3 months with no tests) or a course to teach you a hobby like photography is more like what they are talking about. The course for which you got a study permit is supposed to represent your only academic pursuit. You are taking courses and getting educated in another whole other profession. ,

Thank you so much to this message. This what really want to know. The reason I'm studying Life insurance is to help me to earn to pay for my tuition fee to continue my studies. So I will work less and focus on my study. Thank you
