What happens if i have not lived in Canada for 12 years so do not have option c
and I don't have pay stubs as I was paid by cheque and don't have copies of them as the Bahamas does not have income tax so no need?

What about a letter from your employer stating hours, title, pay rate and length of employment to support your explanation? That would help :)

Try to get a letter from your employer saying how long you have worked there, the hours, and your pay.
Then explain why you don't have the Option C and pay stubs.
It is not 100% necessary to have the Option C - I didn't have one, just sent in an explanation instead, and it has never been mentioned.

I didn't have a prior year Option C. I called Revenue Canada and got the option-C from the last year I paid taxes. I also included my prior year US tax return, the paystubs i had (unfortunately, I didn't have all of my last year's paystubs - somewhere along the way a huge chunk of them were lost), as well as letters I had received from my employer when I was first offered my position, as well as a letter from my employer that I got when I was laid off indicating that I was laid off through no fault of my own, and which outlined the details of my tenure at the company. I included all of this with a letter explaining what was included and why. I haven't heard had my sponsorship approved yet (fingers crossed I'll hear something next week or the week after) but I am hopeful that this will be sufficient.

Thanks everyone...I've got a letter from my employer and an explanation so hopefully that will be enough! :-\
