I would think that her birth certificate (which states that you are her parent) is sufficient.

Yeah, we sent that. I sent plenty of pictures and the flight receipts to show I was there for 3 weeks during period of conception, but still am to do a DNA test. I am just wondering what else I should have sent to save money and time.

Not sure why you are doing DNA test. Is CIC requesting DNA tests to confirm that your daughter is your biological daughter? If CIC hasnt ask for it, you are wasting your money on a DNA test. Dont do any DNA test until CIC specifically asked for it.Hello121 said:

I've been reading through some other links and it looks like it might be a pretty standard request.
I am Canadian by birth, with a Chinese wife. We had a child while in China. As you know, the child of a Canadian parent gets Canadian citizenship automatically, as long as paternity or maternity is not in question. Sometimes the Canadian parent is requested to provide proof pf paternity, and a DNA test is the most convincing proof.
Reportedly there are a lot of fraudulent visa applications originating in China, so I was prepared to have to provide a DNA test to prove paternity of my boy. However, I was not asked for such proof. Don't know why.

Bear in mind folks this is not simply PR at stake. Assuming the OP was born in Canada, this is now an issue of "citizenship" for the girl. And lest we forget (based on all the posts you all and I have read), it seems Singapore is one of the select (ahem) "difficult" VOs to be processed out of.
