ETA Refused - Help

Currently In pŕocess (Family Class - Spousal Sponsorship) . Recently applied for an ETA ; refused indicating the following :

6 A foreign national may not enter Canada to remain on a permanent basis without first obtaining a permanent resident visa.

Application was submitted for temporary travel and met established criteria.

Also, What happened to dual intent and recent Ministerial directives issued on this? Help

Ahh! I didnt follow those directions. I had applied months ago but they recently got back with a decision. Ill launch a second app . Thanks @scylla !

Hi, I was wondering how long did you wait to get the approval for your ETA? I applied but two months now not heard anything. Thank you and I appreciate your response

Approval is normally immediate unless someone has something in their past that makes the situation more complicated (e.g. criminal record, deportation, exclusion from Canada, failed refugee claim, long overstay or illegal work, etc.). If there is a complication in the past, processing can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
