So I am currently extending my study permit and have sent in all relevant documents and additional documents but I just realized in the IMM5709e form in the background information section there is this question which asks if I had previously applied to enter or remain in canada. To which I answered no. As I was under the impression that it meant a separate application other than my current stay ( I have not been refused visa or TRV for canada before and have been legally here since 2018, I only came to the country once, which is my current stay)

I did this the last time I extended my study permit aswell and it was approved but I did it a second time recently as well when I applied for a second extension.

Do you think this will cause problems?

Since you are already in canada and haven't been rejected entry even once its not a big issue but having a rejection and then making a mistake like this could get you banned for misrepresentation

Hi, i have applied for spousal sponsorship and i believe i have misrepresented myself.. I seleceted no for “have you ever been detained, incarcerated or put in jail” i was 14-15 when i was stopped in jamaica for marijuana and had to pay a fine i have sent a CSE and explained that i wasnt sure if i needed to disclose because they were youth offences and i had totally forget.. what are my chances of it being refused and i being banned

Jamaica is your home country?
