Hello all! This year I got a study permit approved. I applied as a single applicant but I'm married. Eventually we wanted to apply for my husband but due to covid restrictions it was not possible to apply before traveling. I booked my flight and had everything ready but less than 2 weeks before my flight I found out I was pregnant. We did not plan this and did not want to have a baby at least until I had finished my 2 year program. I was going through so much stress thinking about the insurance and traveling alone while pregnant that I panicked! I couldn't make a thoughtful decision in a few days so I withdrawn from my program but I am thinking I would like to take advantage of my study permit approval and still go next year with a new letter of acceptance. Could that work? The issue is that of course when I applied for the study permit there was no baby but next year I will have one and I dont know if they will allow me with a baby. Can someone advise?

You always need to update your status before landing in Canada. Unless you are able to defer your admission until next year you’ll need to reapply for a study permit with your new LOA.
