Hello,

I have a question regarding how to proof that i have been living with my partner for 12 months.
So, I moved into his place on September 17th, 2023.
His mom owns the condo unit so we have been all living together since then.
Therefore, the utility bills are covered by her and under her name.

My bank statement and phone bill with the new address covering from September 21st, 2023.
We have opened joint bank account and joint credit card on October 12th, 2023.
I was added to his and his mother's vehicle insurance as of October 13th, 2023.
I have my driver's license address updated and valid from October 15th, 2023.

His mom will write us a letter that I have moved in on september 17th and have been residing in with my partenr and her. we will have this notarized.
As we live in Quebec, we would like to submit the application as soon as possible.
I am wondering if it is okay to submit it around October 1~5th since I moved in on september 17th and have proofs such as phone bill and bank statement and notarized letter from the landlord (mother in law) followed by other documents although they are a bit later?

Please let me know what you think!
Thanks!!

You don’t have a ton of proof. What about paystubs from your employers? Do you have them mentioning the address? No need to have mother’s letter notarized.

We are students... not currently working. We have driver's licenses showing the same addresses. but thats all..

Not possible right now.
Any other recommendations?
Should we just wait longer to have enough proofs?

Do you actually have income and paid expenses going through your joint accounts? Can your common law show they can support your both financially?

Savings of 100,000$ roughly. Is that enough? We don’t have income rn except for investments.
Proving that you have been living together for more than 12 months, requires showing strong evidence. This could mean showing that you both own property or have a rental agreement together. Other evidence could be showing shared bills like electricity and credit cards. Having official IDs with the same address and providing evidence of shared financial responsibilities and expenses further showcases a committed partnership in cohabitation.
Also to demonstrate a genuine, lasting commitment and relationship, you can provide various forms of evidence. Sharing essential life documents like employment or insurance benefits that recognize both partners as each other’s common-law partners can signify mutual recognition. Testimonials from friends and family acknowledging the relationship also reinforce the notion of a genuine bond. Showing proof of consistent contact through messages, calls, and pictures together, contributes to the narrative of a sincere and lasting relationship.Receipts of purchases that have been done jointly especially household items like furniture, electronics and appliances
