Hello:

The school I plan to learn French at starts courses until July or August, 2009. It will take me about 2 months to learn Basic French in an intensive course which will give me an additional 2 points.

My question is can I take the French course after I have submitted my application and stated that my French level is basic?

Thanks,
Roberto

sure you can but you would probably be asked to take the TEF exam and it is always better to take the TEF exam before you submit the application. That way you know how many points you got for sure.

Yes offcource complete your cource after submitting the application.....and one thing more foir all of the participants that for basic french language dont need to appear for tef.....Normally cic give 2 points for that basic cource. (But from approved institute) like alliance francaise. I have many examples for this with reference to my institution bec tef test is not available in all countries like IELTS.

Hello:

So can I go ahead and submitt the application without the TEF results and put "Basic" in all the related forms in which french language level is asked?

What about the IELTS? Same scenario? Take the test after submitting the application?

Thanks,
Roberto

Yes dear you can take the IELTS test within one year of submitting the application .

not within one year. I think the rules are different now.
You submit to sydney.
once they reply, they give you 120 days to submit all documents from the AOR date.
IELTS should be part of the submission. According to some seniors, no extension is given.

Thanks for correcting and u r right ........

Dear rupeshhari:

There's something that it's not clear to me, sorry.

Can't I just send the documents first without the IELTS and then take the test within 120 days and send the results?

Let's say the AOR documents are requested on July. That will give me August,September and October to take the test and send the results, right?

Thanks,
Roberto

yes you can. BUT if you don't get the points that you need to make 67, then you might be in a bit of trouble. Some guys have found that they didn't get the required points in their attempt during the 120 days and getting another seat at the exam, get the results, etc, within the 120 days can be hard.

Hi all,

My application status:
Sent application to Sydney NS: 26th April 2009
Received AOR/recommendation from Sydney: 02 June 2009

Now i am facing great trouble. I can't send full application to islamabad since i have not taken IELTS and French exams yet and on my inquiry French Alliance told me that it would take a year to pass Basic french level 1 to 3 and later needed to appear in TEF exam too. I have only 120 days and it seems to me better if i withdrawl my case and apply again.

Any sugguestions? I am afraid in near future they would change 38 occupations. And without French i can't qualify for 67 points. What should i do now? How long would it take to get my fees back? and how to say to them return my fees? I have sent them email but they are not replying.

See From Nova Scotia Sydney my case has been approved recently and i have only 120 days to submit full application.

Now If i take two months basic french class from French Alliance and get certificate would that certificate be enough to send with IELTS result to Islamabad along with my full permanent residence application?

Is there any chance that CIC Islamabad would ask me TEF exam later?

I dont want to withdrawl my case. What should i do now?
