When I was applying for PR, I submitted a letter of employment from the company that's sponsoring me with an LMIA. The letter included my title, start date, compensation, how long I will be employed etc.

Submitted my PR application in January 2021. Received an document request CIC asking for an updated letter of employment. The concern is that my wage is different than what I had submitted earlier i.e. my wage is less than what I indicated before. Is this something that will affect my application?

Why is it lower and by how much? It can be a red flag if you are being paid less than the wage stated in your approved LMIA.

employer couldn't afford to pay me as much because the business took a hit during the pandemic. It's a difference of $10 hourly.
The letter requested by CIC is to verify that I am still working for my employer. No mention of employment details or wage, do I still have to indicate it?

If all they have asked for is a letter to verify employment, that's what I would give them and hope it's enough.

Thank you for your response!

Just a follow-up: In the event they also request for paystubs or wage verification, how can I explain to them this situation? will CIC even consider it?

I think your employer will need to explain what happened in a letter.
