Hi Friends,

I'm applying for Ontario PNP, but I'm unable to get reference letter from my employer. They just don't issue any such letter until I resign. I've asked my boss about it, but he is also reluctant to give me a reference letter on company's letterhead, but he has agreed to give it to me on a plain paper.

1. If I get the reference letter from him on a plain paper and he signs and puts his official stamp on the letter, will that be acceptable? I'll also attach his official visiting card with the letter.

2. If it is acceptable, do I have to send the original letter to Ontario or I should send a notarized copy of letter?

Letter from my immediate boss/manager worked from me for PNP nomination from Saskatchewan, but I did provide them actual letter from my HR department which I got 2 weeks after. So I am guessing
  • a self declaration stating why you are not able to provide reference letter on company letter head
  • along with other proofs like signed reference letter(as per required format specifying- weekly working hours, your joining date, leaving date if you are not working there, your manager's name and contact email, your designation and roles & responsibilities) from your manager, accompanied with a copy of your manager business card or office I card which again should be signed by him
  • Any other proof like last 3 months salary proof, your appraisal result present in any online system, any other letter proving your existence in company

I am not sure if this will work as I have see other members writing that at times depends on the immigration officer handling your case, but if this the only option I think you should provide as much as you can to prove your work experience.
