Employment Record Involved Third Party

Case description:

During 2018 January to end of April, I was hired by Ryerson University as a full-time research assistant (also paid by Ryerson), and actually worked in "company A". Because "company A" cooperated with and was partially supported by Ryerson University at that time. Then starting from May, "company A" independently hire me as a full-time employer.​

Question:

So for the employment record, I should provide --

1. a single employment record from "company A" employees who really know what I was doing everyday.
2. Or two employment records, one from Ryerson University for 201801-201804, and another from "company A" for 201805-till now.

which one should I pick?​

You should put whoever was paying your salary.

I think (2)...Since Ryerson hired and paid you, before "Company A" independently hired you. They are 2 different employments.
