Hello, received Notice Of Dept an Overpayment i need to pay, from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (employment Insurance).
I havenot paid the amount and am filing my Tax Return, i know it will show up the Dept in my option C, my Question is will CIC refuse my application for sponsorship of my spouse ???, should i just not file my tax return since i live and work abroad, telling CIC i donot have option C ???
Thanks

I'm not sure. I owe $2000 to revenue canada for taxes, and I was told it would not count against me for Sponsoring. Only if you are currently bankrupt, receiving social assistance, or owe on an immigration loan.

Anyone else want to shed some light?

Thanks for your reply, i wish other people can give us advise on this forum, i owe an overpayment for employment insurance to human resources........and not to revenue canada, i hope i shall be ok not filing my tax return because if i file then it shall show up in option C, i donot know what to do, time is running out, april 30 is the deadline to file Tax.
Thanks and i shall appreciate to anyone to give some advise.
