seniors please
when entering employment dates , should i mention work permit issued date when landed in canada or date i began work (arrived on june 14 and received work permit on same day , but started work on 18th june)

Ideally, you should mention the date from which you started getting paid.

Of course, 18th June. Because its asking start date of your employment (not WP..cuz you can get WP but may not get a job for next 3 months...in case of PGWP..or other scenarios). Plus, your reference letter from your employer will also mention 18th June as the start date of employment.

work permit means you have the job and thats legal proofe that you can work and have 4 days off 14th to 18th
 
pay slips don't include start date of salary (only period end and pay day dates are given , that's why i think its better to put date issue of work permit , as its a government document , with workpermit i can start same day and they could assume i was off for 4 days

Well you are incorrect and others have told
You what you should do - per your question.

A work permit authorizes you to work during the mentioned period - it doesn't mean you have started work. Mention the dates of your actual employment and these will be validated by your employment ref letter.
