the length of time depends on the employer. there is no standard. it can take days, weeks or months. yes, generally if the employer likes a person's resume, they would request an interview before hiring. i would advise being cautious of any employer who attempts to hire a person straight from a submitted resume without initiating some sort of interview. that is usually signs of a scam.
