Hi All,

As per the visa office requirement we have to submit up to date reference letter, whoever there is no given accurate timeline of what is meant by up to date. My reference letter was issued on March 15 2010 and i will submit my full application tomorrow , so it will be about 5 month old. all information included in the letter is still accurate and no changes happend.

Do you think it will be accepted ?
Anyone submitted more than 5 month old reference letter and sailed through. please share your experience?

Thanks,
Moataz

Any Ideas Guys ? :)

try to get an updated reference letter. 5 months is a pretty long time. a letter of 1-2 months is ok i guess but 5 months not sure.

If you have enough points for work experience up to March 2010, then it is okay. Especially if that was the month around which you applied to CIO. If you are applying to CIO now, it might be better to get a new one but i dont think its a big deal but you might feel better if you get a new one.

Thanks alot Maaties,

Actually I am claiming points for 3 years experience from Aug 2006 till Aug 2009 For NOC 1111, I do not claim any points for my current occupation (Investor relations specialist) as it does not match with any NOC. so i do not need experience from Sep 2009 till present. I an sending my full documents tomorrow to London Visa office , my initial application reached CIO on 16 April 2010, I excerted lots of effort to issue that letter on 15 March so that i can feel confident that i will not be facing any documentation problems.

I hope in that case it will work :)

well, there is a job for which i did not claim points so it is only mentioned in the part what we did since the age of 18 and did not mention it in the form where we claim points.

I did not send a letter for that job because the company said i would have to go to my home country to pick it up (they do not send it, even though they are a US company and I am in the US). So i attached that email and did not send CIC even a letter from the company. I did send the contract from when my job started. So i think you'd be fine. Well buffalo didn't seem to care.

Hi Maaties,

Yes , this is very logical. no need to provide evedience as long as you do not claim points. may be it can be of help just to justify the progress of your career. in my case I do not claim points for my CURRENT job, however it is mentioned in that letter issued on 15 March that i have been internally transferred to Investor relations department since 1 Sep 2009 and my new title is XXXX, ect , this was the last paragraph but the letter explained very well duties of my previous job (Aug 2006-Aug 2009) which is the most important for me. Business card of my previous manager is also enclosed, actually the letter is very well prepared and it is attested by the chamber of commerce stamp where it can be recognized by the Canadian embassy here. I was just concerned about its old date, anyhow as long as they mentioned up to date reference letters and did not mention specific number of months, I hope it will work, any other comments from your side will be always appreciated :)

You will be fine. no more comments because there is none. i really think you'd be okay. Perhaps others will comment too.
