EMERGENCY UK PASSPORT?!

Hello,

Is there anyone here that has applied for an emergency UK travel document from within Canada to travel to the UK and then return to Canada? I have sent off for a passport renewal and feel it won't be sent back in time. I would love to visit home this Christmas and surprise my family but concerned I am going to buy flights and pay for the emergency travel document just for it to be rejected.

Why would you need an emergency one to travel before Christmas? The UKPO are a lot faster at processing passport applications than their Canadian counterparts. You could just apply for a new passport online now.
