Oh come on. Some of these questions are just nuts.

Why not just email them and see how long it takes for them to respond? It's only an email after all.

Well the questions may be nuts for YOU not for me or others. There are applicants posting all sorts of questions during anxiety. Am sure there would be other applicants in the same situation.

To your advise, I did send them an email 2 weeks back but haven't heard back from them. I was just expecting an acknowledgement for the documents sent. Usually, they reply within 3-5 business days but in my case it's been long so thought of asking this on the forum.

I see that you are trying to be quite aggressive on the forum. Every applicant is free to post whatever concerns he or she may have. If you feel that a question is irrelevant, better not answer them instead of giving unnecessary remarks.

It depends on the nature of your question. They highly advise not email twice about the same thing.

Seton,

Where have they advised not to send an email twice for the same thing ? I just wanted to confirm if they have received my documents. Thats it.

I know that my documents were received by the officer but i want a confirmation from them whether everything is ok so that can advise further instructions.

Saphire27,

I did receive confirmations from them previously within 3-4 days but this I have been waiting for more than 2 weeks. Seems like they missed it

Would you guys advise sending another email today ?

I sent my PCC thru Canada post and it was delivered to CIC. I sent an email to Ottawa asking for their confirmation and still waiting for a reply since 2 weeks. Send them reminder 3 days ago :(

In my experience, CPP Ottawa replies within 3-5 business days, however they only reply if they feel there is a need to respond (read the automated acknowledgement). For me, I find they typically don't respond to a request asking for confirmation that they have received hard copy documents sent by regular mail or courier. Even in the case where I asked multiple questions, they answered the other questions but ignored "could you please confirm that the docs I mailed in have been added to my file?"
Its frustrating because they also don't say "I read your email/question but am not going to respond", so one isn't sure if the email has been read or missed.
I agree that sending the same email inquiry more than once is not an ideal solution, and I would just suggest that all items should be sent by courier, so that it's traceable.

Recently cpp-o have taken a significant Amount of time to respond to emails, not surprising based on the increased workload.

When you give more detail, you get better answers. My response isn't aggressive it's just direct. If you haven't got a response and you still want one, email them, it won't negatively impact your application.

There is a difference between asking for help and searching for an answer no one can really give you.

Did you receive a response from CIC ? Did you send them a reminder on top of your previous email or a separate email ?

•Do not send repeat enquiries, this includes sending the same enquiry by multiple means, as it creates confusion and can delay our reply.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp

This is from CPP-Ottawa's information on CIC's website. It's under the "fax" information, but it says by multiple means and repeat inquiries. I would take that to mean do not email them multiple times.

I emailed them last week. My question was very generic. (Basically: Can I fax corrected forms to you?) They replied in 25 hours. It may take longer for case-specific replies.

Also, just a suggestion - include multiple ways to identify you. I included my full name - first, middle, and last, plus date of birth, application number, and my client ID number.
