9c in the Citizen application asks if you lived outside of Canada during your eligibility period. For our family we were still living in our home country as we were not landed immigrants during the eligibility period indicated on our Physical Presence Calculation. Do we say NO on the application although we did live outside of Canada during the eligibility period? if we say YES itnrequires the CIT 0177 (Residence outside of Canada which does not apply to us.

Eligibility period starts 5 years before the start of the application or the day you landed as a Permanent Resident in Canada.
For people who started out here as student and temp workers - they can start from the last 5 years and they will get 1/2 credit for all the time they spent in canada as student or temp workers.
For people who came to canada as landed imigrant - eligibility starts the day you landed here. Hope this helps.
