Eligibility Review Question

Hi,

On the 29th of July my status got updated to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" does anyone know what this means? If they're close to a decision?

Same thing happened to me.
I even got the Biometric Correspondence Letter. Did you get one too?
When did you pass medical and when'd you give your biometrics?
Also I applied SDS what about you?

I am already in Canada on a working visa, and at the time of applying I didnt have to give biometrics for my work visa. As I am already in the country I am exempt from applying for biometrics until they are established in Canada. I also don't have to give a medical as I am from the UK plus already in the country.

All it says under my application is

'you do not need a medical exam, we will send you a message if this changes'
'We do not need your biometrics'

Eligibility review means they r checking whether u meet the requirements for the category of visa application u have applied for... Example sds or non sds...thats all I know.. It may not be accurate... Just a response I tell u

So it means they are seeing if I qualify for the visa? Meaning a decision shouldnt be too far away?

A VO usually assesses your application and sees if you’re eligible for it i.e study permit.

Usually it’s more intense when applying from outside Canada .

They go through all documents provided and approve/reject . It’s the final step basically.

I applied for extension on July 3rd
By latest timeline trends , hoping to get something by Aug 8 .
