Hi,

I have been living and wokring in Canada from last year. I am here on a closed work permit. but my contract with my client is ending this month end, so I have to go back to my country on 30th. which will be 1 week shorter for completing my full 1 year in Canada.

Can I apply for PR in this case? I have worked even more than 40 hours per week throughout last year.
Is the eligibility criteria to apply for PR is 1 year or is it no. of hours you worked.

What if I stay here without work and complete 1 year. Will I match the criteria then??

Please guide.
Thanks

No, you need a full year for CEC. No, you have to work for the full year.

Can you renegotiate your contract terms?

Thanks. My conract got extended for 1 more month.

After completing 1 year, can I appy any time for PR or I need to wait for any quota to be open. ??

As long as it is a skilled position, you can apply for PR under CEC with one year full time work and by passing IELTS.
