EI and Parental leave.

hello,

I Finished my maternity leave and now I am on parental leave so I would like to know can I leave the country and still get the parental Employment insurance paid ?

some of them told me I can leave the country and get paid and some told me I wont.

Experienced people please help.

yes you can be outside the country the entire time you are getting maternity/parental benefits as these are special benefits and you are not required to be available to search for work during the time. Only regular benefit receipients must be in Canada and ready willing and able to look for work (by filing reports to EI).
