Does a high IELTS score have any effect on the success of a visa application under SDS?

Listening: 8.5
Reading: 8.5
Writing: 6.5

Your IELTS score is impressive, but good SOP will boost your application.
I have seen many cases with excellent IELTS score, but got rejected due to poor SOP and application.

Yes you can apply but not under SDS program.
Concentrate on SOP, I believe a good SOP and application has more impact than Ielts. In general category you may submit your visa application without IELTS; but you must have unconditional acceptance letter from your (DLI) institute.
