I got my PCC from Office of Commissioner of Police in Bangalore without any hassle and didn't have to run for it. It is no more a mammoth task.
I see that there are ppl who assume/presume and etc. Looking at the recent trend of lame rejection reasons, i would still stick to what CIC says. If PCC from PSK was acceptable for rest of the states other than Delhi, then why did CIC scratch their head to add a few lines making it different for Delhi vs rest of the country? I will leave it you to think about it.
Logically and technically, there is no difference bet PSK and Police PCC as both are checked by your local police station.

How did you go about getting your PCC from Bangalore Police commissioner's office. How long did it take you to get it.

My 2 cents -

I would go literally with the words on the CIC website which clearly says that Delhi Residents can go to PSK, and others to Police commissioner office.

Asivad's view and interpretation is perfect and frankly the PSK certificate looks more authentic than from the commissioner's office.. (Govt of India Monogram etc as compared to a regular police letter with just seal of Police commissioner).

At the same time I would not risk a rejection with doing a PSK PCC if I am outside of Delhi.

I personally have got both done and submitted the form with the Police commissioner PCC as that came in earlier..... required some running around and extra 'chai paani'.
I now have the PSK PCC also and can submit it if required.

My personal view is that be safe and get the Police commissioner office PCC as that's explicitly accepted by CIC.

There may be different views on this, but bottom line is that each one of us have to take their own calls.

Check this:-

http://www.bcp.gov.in/bcp_passport/pcc_pvc.aspx

1) Print the form and fill it
2) Pay the fee using Bangalore One (online or over the counter) and print the receipt
3) Take all the original document and xeroxes and go to Comissioner's Office
4) You will get the sms by evening or next day. Once you get the sms, go to ur local police station and meet the designated official (Again with original/xeroxes/Passport photos). Depending on the person, please him or just come back.
5) You will get a sms in a week that ur PCC is ready for pickup from Commissioner Office.

2 visits to Commissioner's office and 1 to Local Police Station

Hello All,

After going through this thread, I made a few inquiries. Bangalore is one of the few places where you get PCC from the commissioner's office. I spoke with my friend in Chennai who is also participating in the Express Entry program. He said that when he contacted his nearest police station and also called up the Chennai commissioner's office, he was directed to the apply at PSK for his and his family's PCC.

It would be helpful if anyone in this forum has successfully got a Decision made with an Indian PCC from PSK.

Feel free to correct me here... I'm just sharing info...

You should be able to apply at you local SSP office, that's what I did.

For residents of other states: You can apply at your local District Police Station.

I'll have to ask for the procedure in Pune! Actually, I was thinking to submit both the documents, just to be safe! Lets see!

What? NO!!!

The word dependents, for CIC purposes, includes your spouse and your dependent children. You DO NOT need to get PCC for your mother, father or other family members.

Hi

My passport is issued from Guwahati, Assam and i am living and working in Bangalore. From where do I get PCC ( PSK and local police) ?

Please help....

Guys, I went to PSK for PCC. They said it has gone for police clearance from your local PS and upon clearance from police station, they will issue PCC. So, in this situation, do I need to get another PCC from the same district police station?

Will the PCC from PSK not be sufficient?

Of course, that would be enough. Assuming you are not from the capital city, this is additional confirmation that PCC issued by passport authorities across India is perfectly valid because they check with the police authorities before issuing the document.

Hi Asivad....please let me know what constitute a local District Police Station. Is it the city from which passport was issued or the city wherein I currently live/ work? In my case both are different...

Honestly, I've no idea of the details here. I was just reiterating that PCC issued by the passport authorities is perfectly valid. You should probably make an appointment with the passport office.

This update was made even before a month. I had got my PSK PCC too but again applied to District Police for PCC after receiving ITA. Dont take chances and get PCC from district police if u have days pending for ITA submission.

PS: I am submitting both my PCCs now (PSK PCC because i have a stamp on the passport)

Hi Preeti,

Could you please tell me what's the difference between PCC from PSK and from district police?

I got mine done from PSK today and somehow came across this thread, which makes me think what to do now. Even just like other Indians who got done their PCC from PSK - I got my certificate and stamp in passport. Besides, when I inquire about the PCC then PSK associate told me that only PSK issues PCCs and not the district police.

Please reply. Thanks in advance.
