Dear All,
I know this question must have been answered in the forum But please help me out. My spouse has completed +2. That is he has completed 12 years of formal education. So can i claim points for the same . As per the rules it says :

A one-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree, and at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 3 points

Does that mean 1 yr + 12 yrs or jst 12 yrs.

thanks in advance

Hello Anupamabk,

The answer depends on who would be the principal applicant. However in both case, Yes, it's 1 yr AND 12 yrs.

Yes, it has to be 1 year AND 12 yrs as per the immigration guide, page 7. This will grant him 12 if he is the principal applicant. If he has high school only, this grants him 5 points.

If you are the principal applicant, he will get (0) marks for high school, or 3 points if he has one year AND 12 yrs. IMM EG7000, page 13

Cheers!

Hi All,
THanks to all for the prompt replies. My spouse has done IATA course . Will that qualify and
I have PG i.e completed 10+2+3+2 yrs.
as per the rules - You have a master’s degree or PhD and at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 25 points .
Does tht mean masters + 17 yrs full time. so in total should it be 10+2+3+2 + 2 or 3 yrs for master ??
Please help out.
Thanks once again
