Hi, so currently I am pursuing Masters degree from McMaster University and my previous education is from Pakistan.

Somebody told me that if you have your latest relevant degree from a Canadian institute, you don't need an educational assessment for your PR application.

Can somebody guide about this in detail plz?

If it was a full-time on-campus programme in Canada, you don't need an ECA for it. If it was online, you will need one.

Hi dotslash227,
If it was online from Canadian university, No ECA can be provided as I understand because the certificate will be issued from Canadian university. I know that it won't be considered as Canadian degree as it is online, but it can be used to get points for (two or more degrees) without ECA since WES will not assess anyway .. Is that right ?

Yes you are right, you don't need an ECA for a Canadian degree, but you won't get extra points for Canadian degree.

Thank you for your prompt response, but do you know someone who did it before ?
I am studying Diploma Online from Canadian University to get points for two or more degrees only not Canadian study, but many people warned me that it won't be acceptable at all .. so I'm very anxious :(

You get extra points if your degree is from a Canadian university/college, however in case of online education through a Canadian university, if more or equa lto 50% of education received is via distance mode, you won't get extra points for degree being a Canadian degree.
