Hello,

I have 2 questions:

- I am currently a Medical Student in my home country. My WES report was made for a BS in Biology (degree recieved in 2015) and a French Baccalaureate (recieved in 2012). The points from a 3 years degree are enough.
Should I mention that I am currently a student in my EE profile, or no need? And will this affect the decision?

- My work experience is a Part-Time Private Tutor (NOC 4216) from May 2015 till June 2017 (20h/week). Is this enough to count as 1 year? And should I mention that I have been unemployed ever since or no need?

Thank you

Minimum requirements
Skilled work experience
Your work experience must be:

  • in the same type of job as your primary NOC
  • within the last 10 years
  • paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships don’t count)
  • at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2016 National Occupational Classification (NOC)
  • at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
You must show that you did the duties set out in the occupational description in the NOC. This includes most of the main duties listed.

I guess you qualifies that.

Hello,

My brother is applying to EE FSW from outside Canada.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in May 2021, he already has his WES ECA.

He worked as a part-time (20hrs/week) paid intern in a mechanical engineering company while still a student from august 2019 till graduation, and after that he became a full time employee (40hrs/week).

Can he claim the job experience while he was still a student under the NOC 2132 ? Or the time while he was still a student should be under NOC 2232 (Engineering Assistant)?

NOC is matched to duties so he picks the correct NOC. He can count part time work. He needs one year continuous skilled full time work to be eligible.

Thank you!
Even though he is not officially a Mechanical Engineer yet, he can still put it under NOC 2132 ?

Under Express Entry, its not a problem... but if he will go through PNP, then this experience cannot be used.
