why would a canadian officer be pissed that someone is coming to flagpole?

the reason was " they have many offices across canada where u can landing" ......

The wait for an appt at the office is 7 weeks. I did call the border and they assured me a visa is not necessary and it will not negatively impact a future visa. I think we going to give the border a go.

All you need at the border is a valid passport and I heard you need a vaild work permit when going to the office; we are on implied status at the moment.

landing, by definition, happens at the border

That's part of their job

Can't see the connection here :D. Lots of people use public transport because they can't afford a car or they don't want one.

You can set appointment at local office and land there, you don't necessarily need to go to the border.
Even my colleague was asked why he didn't set appointment and land there when he went to land at border.
But the reason is simple because it takes months to get the appointment date.

the coutts border is the one near lethbridge right? Do you know if you need a US visa to do this? I have heard that if you flagpole without a US visa they mark your name that you were denied access to US which then has a negative impact for future when applying for a visa.
There is no negative impact. They just give you a paper for flag-polling and they turn you back to Canada for landing.

if i only read this earlier i could drive you there coz im jobless now although i have a car/home.
