On the other hand, I do not quite understand the processing approach at the Edmonton Office - seems to be non-chronological, and the time between the notice and test varies wildly...

mr.cand When did you became a permanent resident of canada?

Me too :..I have 5 friends applied on April 2012 and May 2012(routine application)and they have not recieve a test invite yet. I applied August 2012 on routine application as well and until now no test invite. Hoping to get the test on June because that was the CIC agent told me. My file was transfered Sept. 2013 and it takes 9 months or more to get the citizenship test because of the backlog and waiting time from edmonton office is very long according to the agent. Which is true for what I have read here.

We started processing your application - February 2013

I called them to see where my application is and the call centre staff told me that they're just looking for a test date. As to when -- they don't know.

Hopefully it's moving... Mr. Cand , congratulations. Your news sounds hopeful for us.

Really indeed a good news Mr Cand who applied Sept 2012.
I got friends and neighbors who are March, April 2012 applicants- no RQ, no Fingerprinte request,etc
and still wating up until this moment for a written test invitation.

It appears that Mr Cand got lucky and his papers were processed early at Sydney around February 2013.
So maybe all papers that have "Started processing on February 2013" are now called for written exam this month March 2014.

Oh well, at least there are processing going on in our local office. Hope they can process our papers with a little bit of fast movement???

Thaks to every body we are very happy, we pass our test on March 20 it was easy, ther is lots of people taking the test good luck. ;D ;D

Really good news, and hopefully rubs off on the rest of us.

I sent my application in May 2011 and received an RQ last month, submitting all documents this week. Here's hoping!

From what I concluded from the different forums is that they started going backwards to process files after this issue of backlog. My office is in Windsor and I applied in 2012. All my friends who applied in 2013 with RQ already had their test and scheduled for Oath next week. I had my test in Feb, after 2 years of applying and the call centre agent suggested my file was moving fast!! But no sign of Oath yet I guess it'll come when it'll come.. Good luck to us all.
