Not necessarily to the encryption, but the majority of these cases aren't someone sitting in front of a computer watching your log in credentials....it's usually software running on a machine to record the details, and most...(if not all) security softwares can easily pick that up and give you an additional warning etc.

I agree, calling CIC won't do anything.

Will computer security software make a difference to encryption?

Well I can tell you MIM attacks can take place at this situation like your request wouldn't be directed to the server directly it would be first directed to the attackers computer sending them all the information you sent to the form and then it will be directed from the server, well anyways although the security software can be updated but this is not surely you are away from troubles. so whenever i see a warning like this i just don't proceed.

nah....I always proceed....at work, at home...anywhere. So do all the IT guys in my office....

But...it's your choice.

I proceeded.

Still jumped the gun on calling them...

This has nothing to do with immigration procedures as far as the call center is concerned....and even if it did...ecas is unreliable anyway, and shouldn't be the major concern of anybody. Besides...I'd rather them working on apps than updating ecas.

The resources on the forum are of much greater value.

Please leave the lines open for real problems.

Note that if your computer security software is up to date, your fine.

Just for the record...no one at the call center works on applications. No one doing maintenance on the ecas system works on applications, either. Neither of those activities (taking calls or working on the ecas system) have any impact on the processing of files.

If CIC does not list a separate number for system/technical problems, then yes, call or email the contacts that are listed.

Just for the record.....calling them with minor details does make it difficult for people with real concerns to get through

Ah ha...now I have your details....I'm going to log in again and again and see "In process" also....mwua ha haha!

One persons "real" concern may vary from another.

Some peoples "real" concerns....sadly.....don't consider repercussions unless personally affected. In which time, "real" concerns shift greatly!

CIC is definitely consistent. How many times has this SSL problem come up now? I've lost count.

Haha...If only they could apply this consistency to application processing order!
