As of today, I am able to access ecas, however I noticed the applicant name is spelled wrong, but is correct on the main applications. Is this a serious issue, or just a cosmetic glitch on ecas and nothing to worry about?

It's not a big issue but it would be best to get it corrected as your application will be handled through ecas, including the PR card later on.
Since you already have a file number, if your application has been approved already, try to send a "case-specific enquiry" through the website directly to the VO to mention that, and ask them to correct it.
If your file is still in the sponsorship phase, it's probably best to wait until the file reaches the VO.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thank you. I sent a case specific email to the VO about the issue, so hope it is resolved before it becomes a problem. My sponsorship was approved on the 21st. :D

Not much of an issue.

Ecas, usually have address and name mis-spelled.

Then it should be good - most VO don't answer to say they have done something about it, but you might see a change. and since your sponsorship was very recent, then your file probably hasn't physically arrived at the VO yet, so they can work on it once they have your application.
Good luck,
