Hi,
Can anyone share more light on this problem. I have done BA, MA and BEd. sent my docs to WES and they have evaluated it only for BA & MA nd missed stating BEd. And they have given me Canada Equivalency Bachelors 4 years. How much marks would i get and what category will my profile fall. If it is bachelors it is 112 and if i get 2 or more degree/ diploma category i will get 119. Can some body help me on this.

If the ECA says "Canada Equivalency Bachelors 4 years" then you get the points for bachelor.

However, why didn't ECA report recognize your other degrees?

Paste your WES report here so that members can guide you further.

@ One_Topsy - I don't know why they have not evaluated my BEd. Is there a way i can question them and ask them to reevaluate it.

The WES report:

Canada Equivalency : Bachelors (Four Years)

I meant the contents of the WES report.

If this is your overall Canadian equivalence summary at the top of your ECA report, you will have to choose Bachelors.

And it is strange that they did not evaluate one of your degrees at all. Normally, WES wouldn't send a final report without assessing everything you've sent across to them. Does your ECA report make no mention of that degree? And does your WES online account show any remarks for that degree/transcripts?

Hi Asivad,

This is what the report says. And yes they have not mentioned any thing regarding my BEd. degree. Any suggestions.

Credential: Bachelor of Arts
Year: 2002
Institution Status: Recognized
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (three years)

Credential: Master of Arts
Year: 2006
Institution Status: Recognized
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

You must be a teacher if you have done B.Ed, They didn't assess your B.Ed because B.Ed is of one years ; Normally bachelor has a minimum attainment period of 2 years but since it is special Bachelors that is only required as necessary when choosing teaching Profession, so they may dubious as in which category of bachelors do they put this degree in;

However they could've had given you a diploma equivalency against that but you overall score remained as that of Canadian Bachelors;

But I am wondering why they didn't equate your M.A to a Canadian Master's Degree? You can ask this from WES ? Getting a Master's equivalency would bless you up with more points on the CRS score board :)

With this report, you will have to choose Bachelors. WES has assessed both your degrees as equivalent to a single 4 year Canadian Bachelors. Many members have earlier reported similar outcomes - unfortunately that's how it is and it isn't going to change.

About your other degree, did you send the transcripts to WES? Was it part of your WES application? If yes, what is the status on your online WES account for that degree?

Yes Asivad, i sent the transcript and all the docs related to BEd. and it was part of the WES application. Unfortunately they have not given any details of the that degree. Should i speak to them, will it work.

I have one more question i have 1 post undergraduate certificate and 1 post graduate diploma. which i have not send for WES evaluation. if i send it do you think i will be able to upgrade my points in CIC. i.e. from Bachelors to TWO or more program category.

You should, for sure! In fact, it should reflect on your online account as rejected or awaiting documents or some such status.

I imagine that the postgraduate diploma has a higher chances of getting you to choose '2 or more..'. The undergraduate might help too. Assess both of them if you don't mind the costs or check free provisional assessment tool on WES to confirm.

Can i also send my certificates without transcript to WES for evaluation.

No. Transcripts are mandatory unless you are from an autonomous college. WES has set different rules for different countries. Check what applies to your country and send them what they want.

This is post secondary certificate or a post undergraduate certificate. It is neither degree or Diploma, it is a one year certificate. Even then they would need a transcript.

In that case, you better ask WES because I don't think they evaluate professional certifications. Even if they evaluate, they might evaluate it to "A completed post-graduate major" which is NOT sufficient to select "2 or more degrees/diplomas at the bachelor level" . So, better check with them. Good luck!
