Hi,

A newbie here, seeking advice on my query. Thanks in advance.

I have a PG Diploma from Bournemouth University, UK and 3 years Bachelors from Sikkim Manipal University, India. As per the information I have gathered so far, none of the ECA agencies recognise Sikkim Manipal University except ICAS, but they take more than 6 months to process. At the moment, they are not even taking new applications it seems, as every time I tried creating an application it refuses, citing large number of applications already with them.

In the interest of time, I am considering taking a chance of getting my ECA done by WES. Considering my highest qualification is a Postgraduate Diploma, do I have to get my bachelors degree evaluated as well? I have understood that in case of masters degree, only the masters need to be evaluated, but I could not find trustworthy information regarding PGDip. Even, in case of masters, it seems some agencies ask Indians to furnish bachelors transcripts as well.

What might happen if I only get my PGDip sent for evaluation at WES, and then they ask for my bachelors as well? Will they refuse to evaluate or will they evaluate the PGDip as a certificate course in absence of details of bachelors? Sending them SMU transcripts will not help as WES does not recognise SMU as a valid university.

The only other option would be to get my ECA done by ICAS, long wait times notwithstanding.

What's your advice? Thanks!

Thanks!

However, my wife is going to be the primary applicant, so points difference (+/- 3) is going to be minor. My idea is to try to get the ECA done quickly by WES and hopefully get points for "One-year program at a University" and create our EE profile as soon as possible. During this time, I can continue to wait for ICAS to evaluate both PGDip & Bachelors degrees, as this might take upto 7 months. Time is of essence here, as by the time ECAS complete their evaluation, we might lose further points due to age.

My apologies if I did not articulate my concerns clearly in the opening post - I am unsure whether WES will be willing to evaluate just the PGDip, without asking for Bachelors, and what might happen once they find out that my Bachelors is from an university that is not recognised by them? Will they disregard my bachelors and evaluate the PGDip as stand-alone One year program at a University, or will they consider my entire higher education as invalid?

I have been unsuccessful in finding similar prior cases on the forum. Thanks!

Oh i see, if it is really a vague situation i think rather than sending them an Email to enquire if it is sufficient to send a PGD solely for evaluation? , i ... would send them the post graduate degree for evaluation, if it went through then great if not then they will ask for extra documents, and at the Same time i send the two degrees for the other institution.

I mean what other options do you have? Go All in, mass application hopefully one would hit bullseye?

Sorry personally I didn't experience the very same situation.
