Early Entry to Canada based on Student Visa to a different state [URGENT]

I am from India and I have been accepted to a University in Ontario. My session starts in January, 2013. But my friends stay in Alberta (a different state) and I need to reach there by November. Can someone confirm if this is possible and what do I need to do make it feasible?

yes you can enter in nov. mid , but don't try to enter too early., if you have trv then you may enter anywhere in the canada .there is no issue of entering in canada , but may be a problem while departure, may your home country immi officers ques. you Why are you going so early ??

Thank you for your reply. Would an invitation letter from a friend be required/helpful in case immigration people at the port of departure (India) question me?

Also, would you be aware of how early can I apply for study permit. VFS services in India told me the time should not be more than 3 months but I read on the website (Citizen and Immigration Canada) that I should apply as soon as I receive my letter of acceptance.

I think it doesn't need if your are entering a month before start date of course ,However it may create problem if you travel too early , I have seen such case of not let them go from delhi airport too early......So be careful ......
