e-CAS works for me, but there's nothing inside...is this normal??!!

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian citizen, sponsoring my Indonesian wife. I got my sponsorship approval a few days ago (17 April 2013).

If I login to e-CAS using the immigration file number and my wife's personal details, I can see the following:

Her mailing address

Followed by:

If you want to see the details of an application, click on the underlined status.


Permanent Residence Application(s)

My wife's name Application Received


If I click on "Application Received", I can see the following:

We received your application for permanent residence on MM DD, YYYY

Medical results have been received.




However, if I login using my UCI and my personal details, I see:

MyFirstName MyLastName (all in capital letters)

If you want to see the details of an application, click on the underlined status.

Followed by a small blank space

Followed by the following:

Please remove the ability for me or anyone else to view the status of my application and address information on this Web site.
Note: Once you withdraw your consent, your application status and address information will no longer be available on the Internet. Learn about other ways of receiving information about the processing and status of your application and updating your address information by contacting us.

(And the above snippet has a checkmark on its left, which I don't dare clicking.)

Then there's a Submit button.


So how come I can only see my wife's permanent residence application? Why is it that my sponsorship application is not in e-CAS, even though I've NEVER removed the ability for me to view the status of my application online? (i.e.: logged in using my UCI, I can't see any underlined sponsorship application hyperlink that I can click)

I don't see any problem here fandv as long as one of those could make you log-in and see the status, you are totally good!

Don't click on the checkmark, it'll just remove the ability for you to login altogether. If you are concerned, contact CIC call center 1-888-242-2100.

ECAS can be notoriously unreliable. Sometimes it takes them ages to update it, especially right after a big change like sponsor approval. There have been people have received their COPR in the mail before ECAS even changed to Decision Made

If you check back in a week or so, it will probably be corrected, so don't worry about it. You can see the details on your wife's side, which is the important one now. I don't think I even checked my ECAS after I got approved to sponsor my partner, I just started checking his
