eCAS tracker is totally reliable and helpful. If you guys don't feel comfortable using it, you still have the option to go checking your eCAS everyday multiple times.

I am really scared that mayankpandya, odin2404 and the others who are talking bad stuff about the tracker will try to get access to our information on the e-CAS tracker website to mess up with our information, i.e change address, or even do something worse, just to make their point real.

I am gonna contact Matthew so that he can take my information out of the list.

e-CAS Tracker Currently monitoring 79 e-CAS files for changes. About e-CAS Tracker
Background
Citizenship and Immigration Canada has an online system called e-Client Application Status, or e-CAS, that enables immigrants and Canadian sponsors to check the status of their applications. It is useful, but unfortunately there is no way to get it to inform you if something changes. Because of the lack of this seemingly obvious feature, immigrants and sponsors waste countless thousands of hours logging into e-CAS, sometimes as a daily ritual, only to find that nothing has changed.

What is e-CAS Tracker?

e-CAS Tracker is an automatic system that checks e-CAS on your behalf, and notifies you if anything changes.

Why did you make e-CAS Tracker?

Initially, I made it just for myself. I was waiting for updates on my own Canadian immigration application, and sick of logging into e-CAS only to find that nothing had changed. I made a simpler program to check my own e-CAS, but soon realised that it would be useful to others too, which is why I expanded it and it is now publicly available.

What happens to my information?

When you sign up, your e-CAS login details are stored securely on the e-CAS Tracker web server, at Ecobytes. Every 30 minutes, e-CAS Tracker logs into e-CAS and looks to see if anything has changed. If anything has changed, it sends you an email, then goes back to quietly checking again until the next time your e-CAS gets updated.

The contents of your e-CAS file are never stored - what it stores is how many lines there are on the details page of your e-CAS file, not what it actually says.

A few months after your immigration application is complete (usually because you or the person you are sponsoring became a permanent resident) e-CAS stops working. At this time your details are removed from the e-CAS Tracker database, permanently.

Is it OK for e-CAS Tracker to check my e-CAS automatically?
The e-CAS terms and conditions say this:

"Using this on-line service means that you confirm that you are the applicant, applicant's executor, guardian, authorized officer, or agent of the person for whom this application was submitted."

By entering your details below, you are authorising e-CAS Tracker to check e-CAS automatically on your behalf, and notify you if anything changes. In other words you are saying that, for the sole purpose of saving you some time checking your e-CAS, e-CAS Tracker is your authorized agent. As far as I know, this is fine with Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

How do I sign up?

To sign up, enter your e-CAS login details in the secure form below, exactly the same as you use to log in to e-CAS.

Note, you should only sign up if you can already access e-CAS manually. If you can't log in to e-CAS yet, the e-CAS tracker won't work. It is your responsibility to make sure you enter your details carefully, exactly as you use to log in to e-CAS.

How do I remove myself?

If at any time you want to be removed from e-CAS Tracker, just contact me, and I'll remove you from the system straight away.

Is there any cost for using e-CAS Tracker?

For individual immigrants, sponsors, and non-profit organisations supporting immigrants, the use of e-CAS Tracker is completely free - my gift to you to help make the unpleasant process of Canadian immigration a little easier.

However, if you are an immigration lawyer or consultant wishing to use e-CAS Tracker to monitor the e-CAS files of your clients, please contact me first to discuss commercial licencing options.

e-CAS Tracker Sign Up Form

Enter your e-CAS login details, exactly the same as you use to log in to e-CAS.

Wow... this is really sad.

Most people disclose more information to FACEBOOK than will ever be displayed on e-CAS.

I've had personal contact with Matthew, and he seems to be good people. I trust his site.

The SSL warnings are ridiculous -- just because Matthew didn't feel like paying some third-party $30+ per year for the privilege of hosting a FREE site with a little lock next to the URL...

Your data is probably safer on Matthew's e-CAS Tracker than it is with most e-Commerce sites on the net... and really, all the information on e-CAS is public record -- birthdate, birthplace and addresses.

This is really strange .....

I am sharing info Mayank and I both found out. I do not know Matthew (if that's his name) and nor do I hold any grudge against him.

"Dudebr" - We are not here to "hack" anyone's info. I'm not even an IT person. It takes time, patience and an inclination to "hack" - I don't have either. My intention was to tell all "not" to share their info - Much less on a site with red flags.

"pyramid" - If there is something glaringly obvious, it will be noticed and shared. Should you want to share your info go ahead. But the heads up needs to be out there. Would you store your personal email ID and password with me should I send you a message every time you have a mail?

Matthew - I did not mean to come out strongly against your site. It was not my intention - just sharing what I found out.

Should you all still believe this to be legit, and I hope it is, please disregard all of the above.

I APOLOGIZE for all the apprehension and confusion

odin: you didn't "find anything out" -- you had a knee-jerk reaction (that is, an over-the-top alarming response) to a ridiculous warning issued by your web browser.

If you were an IT person, you'd understand that this sort of warning is ridiculous. The reason you don't get one when trying to post on THIS site is because there aren't even any ATTEMPTS at security.

Doctorkb,

It seems people are falling over themselves to justify the veracity of this site. Whatever makes you'll happy. I have been quite clear where I stand and have just shared it.

Good luck to all with their process.

Cheers

You know... I'm not "falling over myself" -- I *am* an IT person (and also on the Canadian side of the fence) and will tell you that your concerns show either a ridiculous lack of knowledge and Internet experience, or obvious intent to smear Matthew's hard work.

If you don't want to use it, that's fine -- personally, I'm VERY glad he wrote it because I was getting VERY tired of the ridiculous "accept, next, accept, next, fill out form, next" process of checking e-CAS... especially when the information contained is less personal than what I can find about myself from the WhitePages of the phone book and a public birth record search.

Plain and simple: you are perfectly and completely incorrect and off-base with your concern based on what you posted above. If you have further reason for concern, I'd love to hear about it.

Hey ... there's no reason to attack me personally.

I have an opinion and am entitled to it. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST MATTHEW BUT NOTHING YOU SAY IS GONNA MAKE ME CONDONE SHARING LOGIN INFO WITH A THIRD PARTY.

BTW I'm the one who has apologized and shown a little bit of class as opposed to you standing on your two bit help desk.

I'm showing you an amazing amount of restraint.

You show a distrust of anything someone more knowledgeable could say -- "nothing you say is gonna make me..." and furthermore, refuse to acknowledge that the personal information shown in e-CAS is hardly "personal" any more.

If you don't want to share it, fine... your loss. But I would really hate to see Matthew get discouraged from the accusations you (and others) have made, either intentionally or unintentionally, on this thread and shut down his VERY useful site. At least he's contributing to society!
