Hi, I log into ECAS using the sponsors details and UCI, am i rite in thinking i (applicant) can log on myself with my details too?

well - I just tried, and apparently there is 2 ways of logging in - either with UCI + sponsor name and DOB, or with the file application number ( that starts with FXXXX) + name and DOB of the applicant. the application number is on the approval email ( at least that was our case). If you log in as the sponsor you can see both the sponsor information + the applicant, if you log in as the applicant, only the applicant information is available - but that probably what you are looking for, because as soon as the sponsor is approved, there is not much else to do...

Hope it helps - I just got my approval and trying to figure things out myself! for the moment it only says that my application has been received, nothing else.

Good luck!

So the applicant doesn't get a UCI number? Strange. I thought both the sponsor and the applicant would have their own UCI numbers, in addition to the file number.

I believe the applicant gets a UCI later. My husband has one.

The sponsored person will receive the AOR from the visa office, this will have a file number starting with B.
That is where the updates for perm resident will be most up to date.

This is what I was advised by an imm rep.

Correct. Each person will have a UCI. The sponsor's shows up on the approval letter, the applicant's will be on the CoPR. If, however, the applicant has ever applied for a visa before, they may already know the number from prior applications since the UCI number will remain the same for an individual across applications.

So when the visa office sends my wife the AOR, it will have our file number and a new UCI for the applicant. Great...thanks!

Just checked e-cas and it's been updated.

Under "Sponsorship Application Status" it says "Application Received". The same for the "Permanent Residence Application Status". The date received shows April 13, which matches the tracking info from UPS. The strange thing is that I have already been approved as my wife's sponsor, so I don't know why they would still show "Application Received" instead of "Decision Made".

I guess this is just CIC not updating with the most current information?

Anyway, at least they've got me in the system. Now all I need to do is sit back and wait for the AOR from Hong Kong...hopefully the passport request will come within a couple of months!

It takes a few days for updates to be reflected on e-cas so it's probably still catching up.

The UCI usually shows up on the *CoPR* for the principal applicant, not the VO AOR (at least for most VO's).

Thanks, OhCanadiana!

Hey!

thanks all for the answers. Under the applicant name, in my case it says received on the 12th April ( consistent) and also today it changed to "medicals have been received" so I suppose that they have opened my file and matched the medicals with the rest of the application...

Under the sponsor it states our current address (outside of Canada) and it says "decision made" with the date of the sponsorship approval.

So - I hope that London VO is fast and gives me some news very soon!
FS - Good luck with your VO, I don't know if they send AOR - in London they don't, and as visa-exempt there is no request of passport - so I think the first time we hear from them is for the COPR... strange!

Cheers!

Thanks, Sweden. Good luck to you as well.

Just checked e-cas and it's been updated again.

Decision made for sponsorship. Medical results received for applicant. What does that mean? Does it mean the file is at the Hong Kong visa office???

Medicals received for applicant....means the medicals your wife did have been submitted and recorded...that is a good sign. Does not mean the file is in Hong Kong...but it does me the medicals will be attached to the application....that is good. ;D

Ok...cool...

Glad to see they updated e-cas quickly. I hope they continue to do so...

Hi, the London VO received my application on may 9th but my ecas still says application received and nothing about medical received, should I be worried?

Thanks
