Hello,

Our PR application has been processed outside Canada. My husband has been approved for the sponsorship, and now it is the process of PR timeline between office and me. I would like to know if anyone leaves for other countries shortly for few months during PR waiting process after the sponsorship has been approved?

I highly appreciate your replies

Do you mean the sponsor or principal applicant?

in an outside application, there is no detriment into *visiting* another country. If the IO is a pain, the most that might be needed is proof to reestablish in Canada if the sponsor is gone a significant amount of time (more than several months or if the sponsor is working in a different country).

Your husband can come visit you if that's what you're asking :)

Thanks for the replies, guys.

My husband has been living/working outside Canada for years, and we've been living together now. We both will leave for short trips for few months during our PR waiting timeline. Do you think it's ok to leave during the PR applicant's process?

We are not too sure if they may send any letter/email to ask/request more letters from us while being away. In this case, if they may contact us when we are away (says we will check email from time to time but not too sure if they may request anything by letter or not. Normally we always have received the communication and been only contacted by email, so we are not sure the further communication onwards), do you think it is wise to tell them that we are on long vacation for few months at that time if they ask any letters or request passport? We know that normally when they ask more letters, the timeline is 60 days as maximum but what if we are away and something happens at that time, what shall we do?

Another scenario is if they may request my passport during our short trips (says maybe 1-2 months before we return to Australia), do you think if we give them the reasons that we are on long vacation and back in 1-2 months would be enough for them to wait for us to come back and I can send my passport to them at that time? We would like to know if this reply wouldn't make them think /consider that we ignore and are not in a hurry to respond them whatever they request during their timeline limit when we are away, please advise.
