Duration of visitor visa

Am(father) currently holding PR status in Canada

Am currently residing in Canada

Mother and new born baby are currently residing in India.
Mother has PR status in Canada.

We are planning to apply for visitor visa for new born baby.

Please let me know,

1) Generally, What would be the duration of stay offered on visitor visa, for new born baby?

2) Is free medical medical coverage offered to new born baby in Canada, for the duration of his stay ?

1. 6 months. You can apply to extend the visa at about 5 months if the PR application isn’t complete.
2. Unlikely, depending on your province of residence. You would likely need medical insurance for the duration of the application.

TRVs aren't always granted to babies of PRs. You can try for TRP. Have you started the PR sponsorship process now that you are in Canada? If not you should apply as soon as possible.
