Duration of keeping funds in the account as Proof of Fund

Does anybody know how long should I keep the funds in my bank account. at what point they want funds in the account. I have belonging that I am selling to maintain funds in the account, can they ask how did I get this money all of sudden ????

if u going to sell something ,ask them to deposit in your account or transfer them to ur account stating that its of the sale of the item
