Hello, I have a confusion about 2 yrs duration calculation. I landed in Canada on Dec 21 2010. I had 2 unpaid days when I moved from one employer to other recently (sat and Sun between 2 employers). So When do I complete my 2 yrs including those 2 un paid days? Is it on Dec 23rd? Can I submit my application anytime after Dec 24th?

So my employee reference letter should also be dated after Dec 24th? Please let me know.

Pls let me know, if my referrence letter should be after 2 yrs completion in Canada.

You are really cutting it close when it comes to your 2 years of work experiences.

If possible, you could work until January and have your employee date your work letter in January of 2013 so there would be no doubt when it comes to counting your 2 yrs. Wait an extra few weeks and wait until January would be my suggestion. Also, there might be new rules when it comes to work experiences in January of 2013 and it could benefit you!

You state you landed on Dec 21, but you do not state the date on which your employment began (I would have a hard time believing you started working on the same day you arrived).

Don't worry about a weekend between employers. What you need to demonstrate is that you worked a full 24 months and that you worked at least 37.5 hours per week in a skilled occupation.

You may submit the application any time AFTER you meet the requirements. But I suggest you give yourself a little extra room - some people have applied on the date they thought they qualified, only to be rejected because of insufficient experience (this can happen if you lack as little as 2 weeks). For example, if you work 36 hours per week, you'll need to work longer than 24 months to qualify...

Thanks for your suggestions, I am a fulltime 40hours/week employee with both the employers and they can mention that on the referrence letter. Yes, I landed on 21st dec and joined work on 21st dec and my employment and offer letters state the same., as it was an inter company transfer they dint want to have any gaps in my payment and employment.

My only concern was that I would fall under new category if at all rules change in Jan and re do my paper work.
Just in case, will that be fine if I can apply after christmas and get the new referrence letter after dec 25th?
