Dual Citizenship

My country changed the rules several years ago and decided to allow it but before then, they did not have the resources to check up on it anyway so I am sure that a lot of people were keeping their citizenship by simply not telling. I know that other countries if they for example know you are living in Canada will check with Canadian immigration before they allow you to renew your country passport if you have gained Canadian citizenship in the meantime.
