Hi everyone,

The situation is my girlfriend currently lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina and does her schooling there but she was born in Croatia and has a Croatian citizenship and a Bosnian Citizenship. What she wants to do is do the work holidays for 1 year.

We tried to do a test account to see if she is eligible but this is where we got confused. So the question was "Where do you currently live? if you are currently in Canada, choose Canada" and we went ahead and chose Bosnia and Herzegovina and then another question states "Where is your permanent residence?" We went ahead and choose Bosnia and we got to the final part and it says you are not eligible for anything but if we changed permanent residence answer to Croatia (which is true, she grew up there but moved to Bosnia with her family) then she gets the option to apply for Work holidays.

Would this cause a problem when she does decide to apply for work holidays? Because I just checked that for Croatian citizens, you do not have to provide a permanent residence in Croatia, which means if thats the case, why bother asking for her permanent residence when one of the first questions was what country is your passport?

Just need some advice if this would cause any problems later on.

I'm assuming this is under IEC, Croatia used to have a residence requirement so you had to be both a citizen and a resident in order to be elligable, there is no such requirement this year, so possibly the tool is just outdated.

But even when there was a residence requirement all you had to do was provide a mailing address in Croatia.

Yes it is for IEC. Thank you so much for your prompt response. This cleared up the confusion we had and will provide a mailing address in Croatia then. Thank you again!
