Mine is Loan against FD - Loan against FD for 7,50,000 from deposits of 18 lakhs, I thought it was just a formality so I got only that much.
 
Was the reason of loan like "For the purpose of Higher Education" mentioned on the sanction letter?
 
Yes, mine also says details like - University, course etc

so you haven't applied for an education loan either!

Although i got a loan of 5,62,500 against 7,50,000, so you have an upper hand.

Well then, you guys still have a good chance! The VO may still consider it as a Educational loan since the loan letter says its for the purpose of the education. I have seen my friend's sanction letter of his educational loan, and it looks like an ordinary bank document with just the reason mentioned in bold. nothing special!

I have many issues that would get a rejection. So lets see.

University of Ottawa - Had two admission conditions (One was to send original diploma, Letter from previous university in US because the degree was incomplete)
Met the conditions and then paid the fees, U of Ottawa refused to give a letter stating conditions are removed as they insisted they would inform CIC if asked.
10th - 85 % (Did not submit)
12th - 75 % (Did not submit)
B.Tech - 80 % (Submitted all the mark sheets semester wise - 4 backlogs)
MBA(in USA)- 89% (Did not submit)
going to Meng ECE

Paid fees for one Semester( Applied Receipt from ICICI bank and not from the University Category - I got the receipt after applying for VISA), loan for 7.5 Lakhs, IELTS - 8.00, Gave an SOP saying my circumstances why I am going to Canada, why I am leaving my degree in US incomplete and why I will return back to India etc). I submitted a letter from the dean of the institute recommending my admission also.

I just wanted to apply and I did, My admission offer is valid for September 2013 also, so incase If I dont get now I will apply with more documents in the next few months.

Well even if its mentioned its against FD's, it shouldn't be a prob! Even if it was taken against property, it will be mentioned.

Nah, i dropped on 27th, still in processing!

@balajizhh: University of Ottawa is a good university, so you have a very good chance of getting a visa. Only thing that might not work in your favor is why you choose MBA in USA and why are you thinking of doing M.Eng in Canada. Did you explain about it in your SOP?

Yes, I did. I feel I have a reasonable profile with Two International Awards, Recommendation letters from Dean of the University and couple of IT certifications and the only reason if I have to get a VISA should be for my profile. I did explain the same to the VO and also attached a copy of the letter which I sent to Uottawa admission committee.
