Drivers License (prior to PR Approval?)

My PR is in process but I'm in British Columbia now with my family (who are already CA Citizens). I need to get my Drivers License swap over from the USA. Is there any way to get that done before my PR is approved and PR-Card in hand?

you don’t need Pr to exchange driver licenses.

That's good. I just spoke with ICBC regarding the process and they require a IMM1442 and with that, I can exchange license and get a 2yr BC license.

That should be your current work permit or study permit

I'm basically a visitor until my PR is approved. ICBC said they could still issue a license with a IMM1442 which seems like a Verification of Status. I have yet to find the actual application but the list of document requirements seems a bit much given everything submitted for the PR app.

I probably could have asked for this when I entered CA but didn't know about it at the time.
