Driver's Licence in Nova Scotia

I was wondering if anyone who already landed in NS, or who has knowledge of this, could tell me if a driver's licence written in a different language needs to be translated in order to be accepted by the province. Is there any sort of proof that we need to bring with us showing years experience? We can't seem to come up with a firm answer, and was hoping someone who already got a NS driver's licence could help us out. Thanks in advance!
