Hi there! I am from another country which does not have a reciprocal agreement with Ontario but I have driving experience (started Apr 2008), how can I get credit for my driving experience? I've already got G1 this May.

Thanks a lot in advance

You should have asked about this before you got your G1 license.

According to http://www.drivetest.ca/en/license/OutOfCountryDrivers.aspx
An applicant who applies for an Ontario driver’s licence without presenting a valid out-of-country driver’s licence and a translation of that licence into English of French (if required) at the time of application, and obtains a G1 licence, will not be eligible to return at a later date to be credited with any driving experience either by self-declaring or by presenting an authentication document. These applicants will be required to serve all GLS mandatory wait periods.

Therefore, you will have to serve the waiting time of one year on G1 before you can get G2 unless you go to a driving school in which case it is cut down to 8 months.

Leon, thanks a lot! I was in hurry because I was preparing papers for Immigration Office. So I need to wait...

Leon is legally right, but I also know of cases who supplied their Authentication Letter subsequent to G-1 & could get their waiver.

But, it surely depends on the DriveTest Centre & a little bit of persuance. One guy resorted to telling the Desk Clerk that he had already informed about this late submission of the letter while he was doing his initial paperwork - & that worked.

So, u may take your chance as well. What's the harm in trying anyway?
