Agreed. You can certainly still pass the medical if you smoke. Nothing to worry about. Although for the good of your own health you should really stop smoking.

It depends on your situation, like my husband have a problem with his chest xray they saw something and he was smoking but he still got a visa. Important thing is the doctors will really scrutinize the result and you may have to repeat another one if needed.. and if you do not have any communicable disease you're good to go. As long as what they saw on the film is not communicable, you should be okay.

TB is very bad too. That can be passed to other people very easily. It will certainly cause problems for any PR application.

smoking damage takes years to develop. you’re just starting so there’s no damage to your lungs yet. in addition, you’re just an ocassional smoker if you only smoke 1 cig a day. when was the last time you had your chest xray?

don’t worry, you’ll be fine (unless you already have an existing lung condition before you started smoking). and please, stop smoking. this is a friendly advise from a 28 year smoking veteran (i stopped just last year). there’s nothing good about smoking, except making the cigarette manufacturers rich and jobs for tobacco farmers (the later can be easily addressed by introducing other crops to farm).

wish you all the best.

Smoking by itself is not a medical issue unless of course you develop some related illnesses which will make you a burden to the Canadian health system.
