Don't meet income threshold - any alternatives?

Hi

I'm in a difficult situation with my family right now.
To explain the circumstances: I came to Canada 9 years ago, married a Canadian here with whom I have a young child now. Last year I earned myself Canadian Citizenship. I am currently a stay-at-home mom with my husband being the only one with an income.

The original plan was for my mother (51), step-father (58), grandmother (76) and step-grandfather (68) to move here in 2022. They all currently live in the same house which they wanted to sell once my step-dad retires in about 4 years so they could come here with some capital. We would have sold our current home in that time as well and bought a bigger one for the whole family to move together.
Problem is, since my husband is the only bread winner we don't have enough of an income to apply for family sponsorship and with processing times being astronomical right now there is no way I can go to work for long enough to apply in time.

My question is, would there be any other routes we could go to make this work? I read about the H&C but from what I've learned it's not an easy thing to get through. I'm ok going some detours if necessary as long as it gives us at least one chance to bring everyone together here.

H&C would have a very low chance of success in your case. It's really not a viable option for you since all four of them are independently living in their home country.

The only real option is to increase your family's income so that you meet the minimum income levels to sponsor them.

Processing times are no longer astronomical. Applications that were accepted in the last couple of years are being processed quickly. The main issue is that to qualify, you would need to meet the minimum income requirements for three years in a row before you apply and while the application is being processed.

Adding to the above - the only other option would be for your parents to qualify to apply on their own (i.e. through an economic immigration stream). However given their ages, the chances they will be able to qualify are effectively nil.

You haven't listed a single reason that would indicate why a H&C app would be possible. Typically this is reserved for cases where a single parent is completely alone in their home country and the Canadian sponsor is only family left to care for them.
H&C apps are NOT TO BE USED to circumvent regular parent/grandparent sponsorship rules.

The route to make this work, is to find a way to earn enough income for 3 straight years to qualify. Really isn't anything more you can do. And even when you do qualify, who knows what the lottery situation will be like.
