Does unemployment for a year and being on EI affect PR Renewal?

Hey guys. I am due to renew my PR card. I have worked with 3 companies in the past but got laid off from my last one. Since then, it’s been tough looking for a job with the covid situation and so I’ve been unemployed for close to a year now despite persistent job search. I am also still on EI up until October 2021. Do you think my current unemployment status and being on EI can affect my PR card renewal? I would appreciate your advice. Thanks!

IMHO, that has no impacts to you whatsoever. PR card renewal mostly focuses on your physical presence in Canada, employment is not a requirement to renew your card.
