In the IMM 5556 form for an OWP application, under "Documents List", it says,
"If you are a participant in the IEC program, provide proof of health insurance extension to your intended length of stay in Canada".

My common law partner is currently on a working holiday visa (therefore part of IEC) and he is applying for an OWP with his PR application (I am the sponsor, a Canadian citizen). Does he have to submit the proof of health insurance extension?

He is applying for OWP via the spousal inland sponsorship pilot program.
That has nothing to do with IEC.
However, it's generally good to have emergency health insurance coverage because the cost of medical emergency could be high... Just in case.

He will definitely have health insurance, but to confirm, we don't need to provide proof of it?

As the earlier poster said, if this is part of spousal sponsorship, then NO - no proof of health insurance needed.

Thank you. One other thing: in the form IMM 5710 "Application to change conditions, etc (applying for OWP)", it asks for the PA's prospective employer (and employment offer letter). Given that he is on a working holiday visa, should he write his current employer?
